I create original, hand-crafted pieces of jewelry for women (and the men they love) who value freedom, unique creative expression and being in the moment.
The problem is many of the pieces out there speak to a more traditional wearer but deep down you know you’re different.
My mission is to help you go from feeling conformed by your jewelry…. to feeling like your jewelry brings out the one-of-a-kind essence that’s really you! No more compromising!
You march to your own drum and you want to wear pieces that look and feel like you.
Pieces that blend metal and precious stone.
Because you aren’t just all one thing, are you?
Sometimes you want to feel soft and feminine…and other times you have a bit of an edge.
You value pieces that reflect this seeming contradiction.
Pieces so special that when you put them on, your friends say you have this ‘glow’ –what’s your secret? Oh, and where did you get that ring? It’s soooo you! they ask.
You smile back-you can’t help it. You feel so happy, sexy and dare I say it..happy!
That’s why I love making jewelry.
Here’s what some of my clients have said about wearing these pieces:
“Wearing her pieces keep with my style and look. I want to wear it again tomorrow!”
“ When I travel, my rings or earrings are the first things I think of to put in my bag because I know I will be wearing them everyday of my trip!”
“Wearing Stephanie’s pieces make me feel feminine and sexy! I love getting all the attention from my husband and my girlfriends who want to know where I got them!”
I’ve been making art jewelry for 22 years and have taken workshops and apprenticed with many jewelers to expand my expertise. I’ve spent years experimenting with different techniques and applications in regards to silver and gold work. I’ve experimented with Blacksmithing, lost wax casting and a little enamel work. Now I’m working on Powder Coating, which can add a splash of color to metal. Wedding rings, promise rings and custom work are some things I love to do for people. I’ve also re-purposed jewelry for people so they could bring rings/necklaces/bracelets their mother/father/grandparent left them and re-use the stones and metal and make something more meaningful for the client.
How I got here:
Jewelry helped me find myself. While in college and having changed my major for the 3rd time, my Mother, encouraged me to take a jewelry class. I realized I enjoyed it and it presented a unique challenge of construction and design. The forming of the metal, the connection of the stones, shapes, images coming together in the subconscious realm. It’s the collaboration of creativity, metal, stone and earth coming together. My Mom and I worked together for a brief time period and she taught me some techniques she implemented in her work. Also when she stopped making jewelry she gave me all her tools, stones and metal to use. Some of the pieces I make today are inspired by her. She is my biggest fan and wears at least one of the many pieces I’ve made for her everyday. My jewelry career began by making funky rings for my friends. It’s always fun to see an old friend and they will bust out with an old ring I made for them years ago, and they still wear it! And many a husband has bought my work for their wives, a feeling of specialness which only the gift of jewelry can bring. It’s such an ancient custom to give jewelry as a gift to a lover, friend or parent. I believe we are all here to feel appreciated, adored and loved for who we are. Jewelry is an expression of that and making unique pieces to help someone along their journey is such an honor!
